Paula Minucyc has been appointed QC and Improvements Manager.
Paula has been with us for two years and was previously responsible for Quality Control.
After leaving college Paula joined a car seat manufacturer, intending to gain 12 months experience [and salary] before heading off to Uni. 13 years later she was still there! From the off she became interested in the quality control aspects of manufacturing and a series of promotions within the company eventually saw her join the Quality Team.
Looking to develop her skills further Paula joined Wrights Plastics in 2023. She was unfamiliar with plastic fabrication but her transferrable skills, many gained as Continuous Skills facilitator left her unfazed and eager to make a difference.
How Quality Control Supports Sustainability
Our commitment to sustainability was a factor in joining us. She explains:
“The company is committed not only reducing their environmental impact, but helping their clients achieve this too! Quality Control and Continual Improvement are at the heart of this. Improved quality lowers energy use, reduces material waste and allows us to maximise the efficiency of our processes, helping us expand capacity.”
Paula is keen to further embed a quality-driven approach across the company, especially as recent high volume ongoing projects for global brands means Wrights Plastics currently operates 24hr shift pattern. Developing a systematic approach to QC, empowering staff with the correct resources and improving traceability are among her achievements to date.
Client Retention A Measure of Success
And for Paula the measure of success is client retention. “When clients have 100% confidence in the quality of our production 100% of the time, they will stay with us – and have the further confidence to trust us with more projects. And in turn this gives new customers the confidence to trust us with their projects.”
“Wrights Plastics’ willingness to change and improve was one of the reasons I joined the company and my new role is a further sign of their ongoing commitment to putting quality at the heart of production.”
