The growth in retail sales of ecigs required some cost-effective POS display solutions
In January 2012, electronic cigarettes were stocked by just 2% of independent retailers. By 2014, sales of the products in UK supermarkets and major multiples have risen to well over £100m to meet the needs of an estimated two million users. It is estimated the UK market was worth £340million in 2015.
Wrights Plastics was approached initially by a retail design agency working for two of the UK’s leading brands. We developed some branded counter top units (CTUs) for use in stores that were well received.
Since then we have worked directly with brands such as Liberty Flights and KiK. We now produce 1000s of CTUs and CDUs for this still growing sector.
Liberty Flights CTUs
Following a successful initial design, Liberty Flights asked Wrights Plastics to fabricate an initial batch of just over 750 branded CTUs. We used 3mm acrylic to create eye-catching, durable and lightweight counter top units. The initial order was supplied within a six week period. Liberty Flights was very happy with our sustainable, lightweight and durable solution. For Wrights Plastics it marked a milestone in the growth of a new market that has helped secure jobs locally.
