Dibond’s versatility has meant CNC routing Dibond is increasingly popular. Our expertise and latest kit make us the #1 choice.
What is Dibond?
Dibond is the brand name of brushed Aluminium Composite Board. Other common names include Dilite, Dibond Digital and Raybond.
Lightweight and rigid, this cut plastic material consists of a flexible polyethylene core covered with a thin aluminium sheet on each side, and is finished with a high quality lacquer that guarantees perfect printing.
What is Dibond Used For?
Dibond weathers extremely well, with high UV resistance and excellent stability within a range of temperatures and therefore it has been popular for exterior projects such as signage and display.
The perfect metal replacement, Dibond offers the same metallic finish without the weight or the risk of rusting from some metals. It shares the fire, corrosion and warp resistant qualities of most metals but weighs around half the weight of aluminium sheet.
Like most cut plastic sheeting, Dibond is easy to work with. It can be drilled, riveted, screwed or nailed to almost any surface, and as it will not rust or crack it is ideal for both long and short term advertising displays and signs. It is easily available in a wide range of colour finishes, and even wood and mirror-look finishes.
CNC Routing Dibond
Dibond is a suitable material for CNC routing and cutting. It can be cut, shaped and finished into a range of shapes and sizes. But specialist equipment is required and expertise at CNC routing this material is recommended to ensure the best finish and best & most efficient use of the Dibond and other ACB.
With a large amount of specialist kit and large machineable areas of upto 2270mm x 3200mm we are able to take full advantage of the sheet size for maximum yield and reduced waste.
In addition, the specialist tooling and routing modules we use are designed for working with composites, creating precision high quality cutting, routing and engraving. With efficient tool management as standard, processing time is minimised – and this helps make the project as cost-effective as possible.
