Line bending involves passing an electric current through a conductive wire creating a low heat. The plastic to be formed is then placed over the wire at the precise place where the bend is required.  Products made by line bending include acrylic shelves, leaflet holders, machine guards and POS display. Other products made by line bending include garden furniture, binders, POP display products and acrylic tables.

what is made by line bendingWhat materials are used in line bending?

A list of acrylics and plastics suitable for line bending includes:
  • Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
  • Polycarbonate (PC)
  • Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS)
  • Polyethylene terephthalate copolymer (PETG)
  • Polystyrene (PS)
  • High-density polyethylene (HDPE)
  • Polypropylene (PP)

  • Shannon bender
The range is important because it means we can tackle small products and smaller projects at the same time as larger products and high volume line bending projects so our production costs remain the most competitive in our industry. Our kit also allows us to undertake increasingly complex line bending projects at a cost-effective price for our customers. Most applications for line bending tend to focus on single or double parallel bends to create objects such as rectangular covers and equipment housings. However, some fairly complex forms can be manufactured using this technique. Wrights Plastics are able to form up to 6 bends at once with our line bender. Line bending is an efficient process for creating one or tighter radius bends in most formable sheet plastics. We can bend acrylic lengths up to 1600m wide by infinite length. Getting the rounded look is what can make acrylic look so great.  As there is no gluing or joining involved we are able to achieve a flawless curved finish. Additionally, the most efficient line bending requires a skilled and experienced staff. We have dedicated line bending teams that have the experience to deliver the highest quality line bent products in the fastest possible time. More questions?
